
Outdoor Nature Based Therapy
Better Mental Health With Nature in Mind
Most of us feel better when we have spent time in the great outdoors. The natural world constantly supports and informs my practice as well as my own health; this is why I feel that Nature Based Therapy, outdoors, in communion with all the other beings, plants and animals, supports people to find peace and healing.
As a trained ecotherapist, I support clients to engage in the natural world in holistic, meaningful and healing ways using proven and carefully crafted models of practice.

Nature based therapy or ecotherapy can support people to heal from trauma by regulating the nervous system. Using techniques like mindfulness and grounding, participants feel a deeper connection to the natural world, finding a sense of security and belonging and remembering that they are a part of a whole ecosystem.

Walking & Talking Therapy
Walking and talking therapy brings all the benefits of a normal therapy session with the added advantage of being out in nature.
I carefully select local natural spaces which offer peace and quiet as well as the beauty of the natural world.

All outdoor sessions take place in Mid Suffolk UK.

Ecotherapy
Ecotherapy supports clients to connect with the natural environment in a deeper and more meaningful way. Exactly how the session will unfold will depend on the individual but it may include; meditation exercises which help to ground and connect; focusing on a particular tree or animal; making something creative using natural found materials. Clients may also be encouraged to explore their environment to find meaning and mirroring from Nature. This supports greater insights into personal experiences, feelings or issues related to relationships or certain situations.
